Casey, a town in both Clark and Cumberland counties, recently has become known for its “Big Things, Small Town” approach to tourism.

In 2012, the Guinness World Records organization recognized Casey for its wind chime, an idea local resident Jim Bolin had to bring visitors to town. Since then, Casey has earned seven more World’s Largest distinctions: a golf tee, knitting needs, crochet hook, pitchfork, wooden shoes, rocking chair, and mailbox.

As a result, the 2017 edition of Guinness World Records, released last week, has a special feature on Casey called Smalltown Big Stuff, and a “Meet the Record Breakers” feature on Bolin can be found online.

Casey is the home of several Worlds Largest items, including a rocking chair built in 2015.

To celebrate there will be a special book signing event at the Whitling Whimsy Café, which is next to the wind chime and across the street from the world’s largest rocking chair. Special edition books are being sold at retailers throughout town.
