Effingham County Democrat Dinner Set for Saturday

The Effingham County Democrat Central Committee is hosting an event they are calling the "Stop the GOP Madness Dinner" this Saturday night.

The event will be held at the Effingham American Legion Hall in downtown Effingham. The dinner will be served around 6:30pm with the doors opening at 5:30pm for fellowship.

Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs and former Illinois State Senator and US Congressman Glenn Poshard will be in attendance to speak on key issues Democrats are facing.

Several candidates will be on hand including Appellate Court candidates Jo Beth Weber and Brad Bleyer, Effingham County State's Attorney candidate Lupita Thompson, County Board members Doug McCain and Karen Luchtefeld, and County Treasurer Steve Dasenbrock.

Tickets are $20 per person.
