Deters Named Economic Development Coordinator for Teutopolis

Teutopolis Mayor Greg Hess has announced that Anita Deters has accepted the position of Economic Development Coordinator for the Village of Teutopolis.

In this role she will be assisting the Mayor and Village Board with economic development projects and research as well as seeking new growth opportunities for the village.

A lifelong resident of Teutopolis, Deters has a vested interest in the economic success and growth of the community. In addition, she brings over 20 years of professional and volunteer service experience to the village, including fundraising and event planning for various charitable organizations and civic entities. Most recently, Deters served as President of the Effingham Area Catholic Charities Advisory Board and spent two years on the Executive Committee of the 175th Anniversary Celebration in Teutopolis. She has been active within the Teutopolis School District as well, serving as a substitute teacher for several years and volunteering with the high school band and drama programs. Deters is also in her 22nd year of teaching for the St. Francis Parish religious education program.

She currently resides in Teutopolis with her husband, Chuck. They have four children; Drew, Celeste, Christian and Joel.
