Teutopolis school board members and administrators are fine-tuning a budget reduction survey soon to be sent to district residents.

The survey is in response to the Board's directive to the administration to cut up to $1 million from the budget for the coming fiscal year.  Board members reviewed a tentative survey at this week's meeting, but asked for some changes before the survey is distributed.

Board President Marty Siemer Wednesday said it is the intention of the Board to send the survey to district residents.  The Board hopes to get input from as many residents as possible on how to pare back the budget or how to generate additional revenue, or a combination of the two.

In other business, the Teutopolis board recognized high school students of the month Danny Nosbisch and Julie Waldhoff; hired Austin Robinson as frosh/soph boys basketball coach; approved a change in policy regarding student teacher background screening; named board member Leah Passalacqua as delegate to the state school board convention in November; discussed a request from Pel Industries to use the school logo to sell apparel at retailers such as Wal Mart and K-Mart and then tabled the issue; and agreed to seek bids to repair or replace the high school Band room roof and the bus garage roof.
