The Marion County Sheriff's Department has arrested three people on methamphetamine charges after responding to a complaint from a rural Salem man about a car full of people doing drugs at the end of his driveway.

Deputies arrested 55-year-old Steven Selby, Sr. and 44-year-old Barbara Helm on a count of possession of 15 to 100 grams of meth and possession of meth with intent to deliver. 28-year-old Michael Whitaker of Effingham on counts of possession of less than five grams of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The incident occurred around 9:30pm Sunday at a home in rural Salem. Deputies say the homeowner knew one of those who had been in the car earlier, but who had left before authorities arrived.
