Police Investigating Series of Vehicle Break-ins Overnight Friday

Effingham City Police are investigating a series of break-ins that occurred overnight Friday at 1301 Avenue of Mid America.

One break-in occurred to a vehicle owned by Joey Grimstad of Rock Island. Eight batteries, a drill, an impact drill, socket sets and ID badges were taken, along with a jump starter pack.

A vehicle owned by Hyline North America of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania lost a laptop computer.

Two vehicles owned by Pyramid Rebuild and Machine of Tallmage, Ohio, were burglarized. One lost an X-box, nine X-box games, a headset, two controllers and a SmartWatch. The other suffered damage, but nothing has yet been found missing.

A vehicle owned by Jaden Umana of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, had a guitar stolen, a wallet and an undetermined amount of cash.

Damage was done to each vehicle to gain entry.

The vehicle break-ins were all reported to have occurred between 9pm Friday and 6am Saturday.
