First Distribution of Property Tax Revenue on the Way

The first distribution of revenue from 2015 Effingham County property taxes payable in 2016 was made Tuesday.

County Treasurer Steve Dasenbrock said an amount of $25,741,742.51 was distributed by direct deposit. The five largest distributions were made to Effingham Unit 40 School District--$7,964,066.64...Lake Land College--$2,267,192.79...Teutopolis Unit 50 School District--$2,251,726.75...Effingham County--$2,224,145.11...and City of Effingham--$1,993,939.74. The smallest distribution went to Teutopolis Tax Increment Financing District for $26.52.

The second installment of Effingham County property tax payments is due Friday, October 7. Taxes may be paid at any financial institution in the county, mailed (and the due date postmark will be accepted), paid on-line, or at the County Treasurer's office located on the second floor of the Effingham County Office Building. Please take along your bill when making your payment.
