Three residents of Sesser were injured during a Sunday afternoon crash outside Teutopolis.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports the crash occurred at 5:35pm on US Route 40 at St. Francis Township Road at the east edge of T-Town.

A pickup truck driven by 37-year-old David Abbott of Toledo was traveling on Route 40 when the driver's side front tire rapidly deflated, causing Abbott to lose control of the truck. The unit crossed the centerline and collided with a car driven by 33-year-old Johnathon Dalton of Sesser.

Three passengers in Dalton's vehicle, 31-year-old Stephanie Dalton, two-month-old Deizel Dalton, and eight-year-old Jaylee Higgons, all of Sesser, were injured and were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

No citations were issued.
