Brownstown school board members have their administrative team in place for the coming school year.

The Board added the title of elementary principal to Superintendent Adam Bussard's duties. Mike Shackelford was named junior-senior high school principal, and will serve as Grades Pre-K to 12 Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

The duties of former elementary principal Angela Reeter are being absorbed by Bussard and Shackelford. Reeter resigned to go to work for the Regional Office of Education.

The Brownstown board also set a public hearing on the proposed budget for the new fiscal year for the next Board meeting on September 19, hired Jenna Townsend as district school nurse for the new school year, and accepted resignations from Callie Atwood as school nurse and from Talitha Wiedman as 2nd grade teacher. The Board also employed Kayla Hingson as a Pre-K teacher for the coming year, and approved a contract with the Brownstown Education Association representing district teachers.

Bussard said the contract with teachers is for two years, with a re-opener on wages after the first year.
