Dieterich Board Okays Plans for Apartment Building

Dieterich Village Board members have cleared the way for construction of a six-unit apartment building in the village.

The Board approved a variance in the rearyard setback for property owned by Jacob Doedtman at 303 East Maple Street, and approved a plat of the subdivision on which the apartment building will be developed.

The Board also decided against amending the boundaries of the village's first TIF District, and set September 10 as the date for an electronics recycling effort. The collection will be held at the village water plant on the south end of the high school parking lot.

Dieterich board members hired Timothy Sears of Texico, Illinois as architect on a project that would expand the water plant building and maintainence building. Also agreed to was additional sidewalks in Liberty Memorial Park. K and A Lewis Construction will do the work that will help make the area handicapped accessible.
