Four people were injured in a crash near Lake Sara Friday afternoon.

Illinois State Police say a minivan driven by 31-year-old Lindsey Durkin of Effingham attempted to turn off Safety Harbor Road onto John Birch Lane when the vehicle left the roadway and into a ditch. The crash happened at 4:25pm.

Durkin was injured, as were her passengers, 13-year-old Jasilyn Lingafelter of Effingham, 16-year-old Myah O'Leary of Altamont and one-year-old Isaiah Durkin of Effingham. All four were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Lindsey Durkin was cited for improper lane usage and failure to seat belt a passenger under 16 years of age.
