Saturday Activities at County Fair

There's plenty going today at the Effingham County Fair.

A car show starts at 9am, and ranch sorting begins at 10am. Mid America Jumper will be back with inflatables from noon to 10pm, and Pro Pulling League action starts at 6:30pm.

Due to the pulling action, there will be no performers tonight on the Free Stage, but Slant 6 will perform rockabilly music under the grandstand at 10am.

As far as judging, the 4-H dog show got underway at 8am, and the 4-H boer goat show will start at 12:30pm. There is also a lot of general project judging today in agriculture products, horticulture, floriculture, photography, art, handicraft, textiles, culinary and Youth Department categories.

The fair will run through next Saturday at Altamont.
