The Effingham County Fair Twilight Parade is more of an afternoon affair this year.

The parade will be held this Sunday and the procession is expected to arrive at the grandstand by 4:30pm. The parade will take off from the staging area at Altamont Community High School at 4:15pm. Participants are asked to arrive between 2:45pm and 3:15pm to facilitate judging and parade lineup.

Online registration is encouraged at www.altamontambulance.com/parade_entry.html or you may use the entry form found on Page 77 of this year's fair premium book. A short description of your parade entry of 35 words or less should be furnished with your entry form.

The parade theme is "Carnival Lights, Country Nights". There will be cash prizes awarded for chosen parade category winners with ribbons presented to all participants. Pre-registration is required for judged entries and must be received by July 30. Non-judged entries may register the day of the parade, but pre-registration is highly recommended.

You may phone Terry or Faith at 618-483-6804 if you have any questions or would like to register your entry by phone.
