Four juveniles have been arrested in connection with burglaries from vehicles in Effingham earlier this month.

The Effingham City Police Department received what was termed "a large number of reports" of burglaries from motor vehicles that occurred during the evening on July 5 through the early morning on July 6. Police say most of the victims were in Rollin Hills Subdivision as well as on Hillside Drive and Richland Avenue.

The city police Investigations Division, with the cooperation of the Effingham County Sheriff's Department and the Effingham County State's Attorney's Office, conducted an investigation into the thefts that has resulted in the arrest of four juveniles from Watson and Altamont.

The city police department wishes to remind residents to be alert, lock their vehicles at all times, keep valuables and cash out of sight, and report any suspicious activity immediately to their local law enforcement agency.
