An Effingham man was injured today in an early morning motorcycle crash.

State police say 33-year-old James Tarin was traveling on northbound I-57 at the north trilevel at Effingham at 1:37am when the crash occurred. Police say Tarin lost control of the cycle while traveling in the left lane and the unit overturned.

Tarin was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Tarin was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
