A Common Core-based test will be a lot less common in Illinois.

The Illinois State Board of Education has announced it will stop administering the Partnership for the Achievement of Readiness for College and Careers, or PARCC standardized test to high school students.

A revamped SAT will be the new test of choice. The state board says they were inspired to pull the plug after conversations with parents, administrators, unions and others.
