State police report a pickup truck driven by 26-year-old Cody A. Drake of Louisville was southbound near the intersection of County Road 400 East and County Road 250 North when the pickup ran off the right side of the roadway and then back across and off the left side of the roadway. The pickup overturned. Drake and the right front passenger, 25-year-old Blake Fehrenbacher of Ingraham, were ejected from the pickup. Jasper County Coroner Jason Meyer pronounced both Drake and Fehrenbacher dead at the scene.

Streif of Louisville, 22-year-old Kendra Sue Courson of Ingraham and 18-year-old Kaylee Sue Sefton of Brownstown. Three were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, while the fourth was taken to Carle Hospital in Urbana. The report from State Police does not indicate which patients went where.
