Five Ohio Residents Injured in Fayette County Crash

Five Fairfield, Ohio residents were injured in a single-vehicle crash in Fayette County Saturday morning.

State police report a SUV driven by 31-year-old Brittni Elliott swerved toward the median along I-70 westbound to avoid striking a deer. Elliott lost control of the vehicle while trying to come back onto the roadway. The vehicle ran back off the roadway and struck a ditch, overturning once and landing upright.

During the incident, one child not wearing a seat belt was ejected from the vehicle. 

Elliott and her four passengers, 32-year-old Greg Elliott, and a 10-year-old, eight-year-old, and four-year-old were all taken for treatment to Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.

Elliott was cited for having a child not properly secured in the vehicle. The crash occurred at 5:17am.
