Two people were killed and two more were injured in a crash early Sunday morning in Clark County.

State police say a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Jeremy Luster of Brocton was traveling on Illinois Route 1 just before 3am. As he neared Blizzard Road, Luster lost control of the vehicle and crossed the oncoming lane of the highway at a high rate of speed. The vehicle ran off the highway, struck several trees and headed down an embankment. The vehicle came to rest against a large tree trunk. The vehicle caught fire a short time later and was destroyed by the fire.

Jeremy Luster and his passenger, 25-year-old Joshua Luster of Brocton were killed in the crash. Two other passengers in the vehicle, 33-year-old Travis Posey of Paris and 28-year-old Laura Winkler of Paris, were injured and were taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

The investigation into the crash continues.
