Two Injury Crashes in City Over Weekend

Effingham City Police investigated two crashes over the weekend involving injuries.

One crash happened just after 2pm Saturday at 1008 Shiloh. Police say 56-year-old Frances Miller of Effingham backed out of a driveway and struck a scooter passing by operated by 69-year-old William Pearcy of Effingham. 

Pearcy was injured was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Miller was cited for failure to yield.

Another crash occurred just after 1pm Friday at South Raney Street and Mansfield Drive.

Police say a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Elizabeth Vogt of Effingham pulled into the path of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Daniel Collins of Casey.

Collins was injured, but declined treatment. Vogt was cited for failure to yield.
