John Dietzen of Effingham is the winner of the Harmony Playground fundraising drawing.

Some 600 tickets were sold at $100 apiece to raise funds for the accessible playground to be built northwest of the Workman Sports and Wellness Complex. Dietzen's ticket was drawn by sixth grader-to-be Sydney Horn during a live broadcast at the start of "The Drive Home" with Brian and Courtney on 979XFM and KJ Country 102.3. Sydney is one of the kids who will benefit from the playground.

Dietzen will get his choice of one of five vehicles made available by the Effingham New Car Dealers Association...Russ Braunecker Cadillac-Buick-GMC, Goeckner Brothers Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Sprinter, Dan Hecht Chevrolet-Toyota, Northside Ford-Lincoln-Mercury, and Roy Schmidt Honda...or can choose $30,000 cash.

The playground will be overseen by the Effingham Park District. Park District Director Jeff Althoff said he's hopeful ground can broken on the project in the spring of 2017.
