Central School Student Recognized for Lifesaving Effort

Central School student Bentley Brown has been recognized by Effingham County Sheriff Dave Mahon for a lifesaving effort on behalf of a family member.

Sheriff Mahon attended the Central School Awards Day ceremony to make the presentation of a Certificate of Recognition to Bentley. The boy was recognized for phoning 911 due to a medical emergency that resulted in saving the life of a family member. Also on hand was Telecommunicator Gena Blair, the Effingham County police dispatcher who answered Bentley's call to 911.
