Rick Siemer to Serve as Guest Speaker for Chamber Scholarship Luncheon

Rick Siemer, President of Siemer Milling Company will be the keynote speaker at the Annual Scholarship Sponsor and Recipient Luncheon sponsored by the Chamber Foundation of Effingham County. The event will be held on Friday, June 3rd at the Thelma Keller Convention Center from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. The Foundation will be awarding nine scholarships for both adults and graduating high school seniors.

All 2016 sponsors of the Chamber Foundation Community Scholarship Program will be recognized during the luncheon. Special recognition will be given to the Exclusive Sponsors: J & J Ventures Gaming LLC, BK Resources and Platinum Sponsors that include Effingham New Car Dealers Association, Koerner Distributor, John Boos & Co and Siemer Milling Company.

This year’s high school scholarship recipients are Parker Anderson and Hunter Niebrugge from St. Anthony High School, Megan Meyers and Claire Niebrugge from Effingham High School and Mindy Myers from Teutopolis High School. This year’s adult scholarship recipients are Kaitlin Cordes and Carolyn Horin of Effingham, Dillon Hardiek of Teutopolis and Beth Schumacher of Sigel.

The Chamber Community Scholarship Program has awarded $176,000 to 139 area residents over the past 21 years. Scholarships are awarded to spouses, employees and family members of Chamber member companies.

The cost of the Annual Scholarship Sponsor and Recipient Luncheon is $18 per person and can be paid in advance or at the luncheon. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Chamber office at 217/342-4147. The luncheon is open to the public.
