Two people were injured in a crash on Effingham's north side Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened at 4:55pm at 4th and Rickelman. Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a vehicle driven by 53-year-old Susan Zakutansky of Effingham was stopped in traffic waiting to turn left from 4th Street. A vehicle driven by 28-year-old Angela Spour of Sigel failed to stop and struck Zakutansky's vehicle from behind.

Spour was injured, as was a passenger in the Zakutansky vehicle, 26-year-old Rachel Zakutansky of Effingham. Spour was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, while Zakutansky went to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County for treatment.

Spour was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
