The Effingham Noon Rotary celebrated Scouting at their April 27 meeting.

Area Boy Scout leaders Dan Wormhoudt of Effingham and Craig Anderson of Sullivan were on hand to explain activities of Lincoln Trails Boy Scout Council, which represents packs and troops in this area.

Wormhoudt brought along local artist Harold "Ham" Hampton, who did an oil painting of a photo of three local Boy Scouts collecting funds for reconstruction work in the aftermath of the St. Anthony Hospital fire in 1949. The painting will be auctioned off later this year as a fundraiser for Scouting.

Bob Fergus served as Rotary weekly program chairman.
