Two people were taken for treatment of injuries received in a crash in front of Beer and Gas Port at Edgewood Tuesday afternoon.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a pickup truck driven by 53-year-old Robert Malloch of Wheeler pulled from the Beer and Gas Port parking lot and turned on to Iowa Street, the roadway running in front of the business. Malloch's vehicle collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by 65-year-old Doyal Parks of Farina.

During the investigation of the crash, a passenger in Malloch's vehicle, 32-year-old Bethany Bower of Dieterich told deputies she was driving the vehicle. Bower was later cited for obstructing justice.

Bower was injured, as was Parks. Both were taken for treatment to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Deputies cited Malloch on counts of DUI, failure to yield, driving while his license is revoked, and operating an uninsured vehicle, as well as obstructing justice.

The crash happened shortly before 4pm Tuesday.
