Effingham County Clerk Kerry J. Hirtzel announced today that all Illinois Election Authorities were recently advised by the Illinois State Board of Elections of a mailing from the Voter Participation Center, (VPC), Chicago, Illinois, to all non-registered voters in the State of Illinois.

Hirtzel said, "We are advised this mailing is going out this summer. This mailing contains a letter from the VPC and a voter registration form with the name and address of each applicable Election Authority for their reference should they wish to register to vote. Since these notices are not originating from the County Clerk’s office, but from an outside organization, there may be a possibility that some may go out to those who are already registered to vote, those who have moved, as well as those who have passed away."

“We want to let all residents in Effingham County who receive this mailing know that our offices will process all such voter registration forms properly completed and forwarded to our office," said Hirtzel. “We have been advised by the State Board of Elections that this is a legitimate company operating as a non-government, nonprofit, and nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization.”

If you have any questions about this mailing, you are asked by the VPC to contact them at their office at 27 N. Wacker Dr. #710, Chicago, IL 60606, or phone them at 877.255.6750. The VPC indicates that if anyone wants to be removed from their mailing lists to contact them at:   info@thevoterparticipationcenter.org
