The administrator of Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Effingham pleaded guilty Friday to stealing money from the trust fund of a resident.

Lola L. White, 53 of Shumway, pleaded guilty to a count of theft between $500 and $10,000 from the trust of long-time family friend Robert Sinkler, Sr.

White was sentenced to two years of Second Chance Probation by Judge Kimberly Koester, who had the option of sending the nursing home administrator to prison for five years. White will also have to pay more than $1,300 in fines and court costs, complete 30 hours of community service and make full restitution to the resident's trust fund.

Assistant Attorney General Stephen Swofford reported that White had made full restitution prior to Friday's hearing, but declined to say how much money was stolen from the trust.
