Four people have been charged in connection with damage done to a rural Shelby County cemetery.

Bradley Wright of Shelbyville, Trenton White of Pana, and Colton Brown of Alma, all 19-year-old, and a juvenile from Pana have been charged with unlawful vandalization of a gravestone. Wright, White and Brown face a Class 4 Felony count, while the juvenile's charge was elevated to a Class 2 Felony, due to the number of stones damaged.

The damage was done at Ridge Cemetery on Williamsburg Hill, west of Shelbyville off Illinois 128 the weekend of March 5.

White, Wright and Brown are all in custody in Shelby County Jail and are being held on bonds of $25,000. All three are scheduled for court appearances Monday morning with Public Defender Amanda Ade-Harlow.

The destruction included some tombstones that weighed more than 1,000 pounds. Volunteers have been working to repair the damage. A Go Fund Me page has been set up for donations.
