Authorities are investigating whether the death of a Flora man who was found in his vehicle after a crash might have been medically-related.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on US Route 45 about a half-mile north of Cottonwood Drive in Flora at 10:22am Wednesday. A pickup truck driven by 67-year-old David E. Billingsley left the roadway and came to a stop in a field. Police say the vehicle sustained minor damage.

Billingsley was taken to Clay County Hospital in Flora where he was later pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Clay County Sheriff's Department and the Clay County Coroner, but is believed to have been medically-related.
