The Dieterich Village Board Monday agreed to go forward with alternate energy supplier SIMEC.
A public information meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 23, at 6:30pm at the Dieterich Kluthe Civic Center to answer questions about the referendum question on the November 6 election ballot and the alternate energy supplier process. A representative from SIMEC will be at the meeting, which will be open to all Dieterich residents.
The Village Board agreed to encourage all residents to fill out a post office survey and request that the Dieterich Post Office remain open. They're also encouraging all residents to attend a November 2 informational meeting at 1pm at the Post Office to show their support for keeping it open.
Village of Dieterich Trick-or-Treating was scheduled for Sunday, October 28 from 6-8pm. Please have your porch light on if you wish to participate.
The Village Board approved a site plan and a contract for private development with CJ Masonry, which will be relocating their masonry construction business to Lot 20 in the Zumbahlen Industrial Park.
The Board reminds everyone that the village-wide garage sales will be held this Saturday, October 6 from 7am to noon. There will also be free eletronics recycling at the Dieterich Village Water Plant parking lot from 8am to noon this Saturday.
Also, a public hearing to discuss a lagoon reconstruction grant that was scheduled for October 11 at the Village Hall has been cancelled. The Village will instead apply for a Flexible Opportunity grant through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity in February instead of this month. The public hearing will be rescheduled for early in 2013.
