Injury Crash at Market and 2nd; Other City Police Activity

An injury resulted from a crash at Market and 2nd just before 4pm Tuesday.

Effingham city police report a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Amanda Sprague of Effingham struck a vehicle driven by 91-year-old Nina Poland of Effingham. 

Sprague was injured and was taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. Sprague was cited for disobeying a stop sign.

A school bus was involved in a crash at Fayette and 1st just after 7:30am Tuesday.

Police report the school bus driven by 60-year-old John E. Taylor of Effingham struck a semi driven by 41-year-old Louis Needham of Pinckneyville. The bus was transporting children, but there were no injuries. No citations were issued.

City police also received another report of a burglary from a motor vehicle while it was parked at 1325 North Outer Belt West. A pair of shoes was taken sometime between 6pm and 11pm Saturday.
