Farina Man Charged w/Predatory Sexual Assault of Child

A Farina man has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under age 13.

51-year-old Larry L. Sapp faces three counts of the Class X felony offense, alleging three separate acts against the alleged victim. A warrant was issued for Sapp's arrest Friday following an Illinois State Police investigation. Vandalia police took Sapp into custody Friday night.

During his initial court appearance Monday morning, Sapp was told his bond is set at $750,000. He was appointed a public defender while authorities research his financial status.
