Neoga school district residents will have the opportunity Tuesday to vote on a tax referendum that would generate slightly more than $400,000 in additional revenue for the district.

You can find out more about the referendum and why it's being proposed at a Referendum Information Fair tonight. The Information Fair will run from 6-9pm at the Neoga Municipal Building at 533 Chestnut Avenue.

The event was organized by the Neoga Community Alliance, which is supporting passage of the referendum.

Neoga Superintendent Beth Pressler and members of the Neoga Board of Education will be on hand. The plan is to answer questions by talking with school district residents one-on-one, rather than have speeches and rather than asking those who attend to stand up and speak in front of an audience.

Representatives of the Neoga Booster Club are expected to be in attendance. The Booster Club contributed funds that kept athletics and other extra-curriculars afloat this school year, but club officials have already indicated they can't keep that up indefinitely.
