Three people were seriously injured in a crash on the Moccasin Road Wednesday morning.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports that a truck driven by 60-year-old Paul Yagow of Beecher City ran off the right side of the road. Yagow overcorrected and the truck came back across and went to the left side of the roadway, into the path of a van driven by 57-year-old David Jutkins of Shumway, and the units collided head-on.

Yagow and Jutkins were both injured, as was Jutkins' passenger, 63-year-old Raymond Jutkins of Effingham. All three were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Yagow was cited for DUI and improper lane usage.

The crash happened about a half-mile east of 300th Street at 7:03am. The roadway was closed to traffic for about an hour.
