Montrose Motorcyclist Injured in Crash

A Montrose man was injured in a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning.

The crash happened at 1:10am. State police report 55-year-old Richard Muller was eastbound and swerved to miss hitting a deer. Muller laid the cycle down and ran off the highway to the right. The cycle came to rest in a ditch and Muller came to rest about five feet from the cycle.

Muller was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Muller was cited for DUI alcohol and no valid insurance.

The crash happened on US 40, about two miles east of Montrose.
