Crash at Fayette and Banker Wednesday

One person was injured and traffic was tied up for some time as the result of a crash at Fayette and Banker Wednesday afternoon.

Effingham city police report a vehicle driven by 36-year-old John P. Cook of Effingham turned in front of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Shelli Cotton of Teutopolis just after 3:30pm. The impact caused a wheel to come off Cook's vehicle and strike a vehicle driven by 67-year-old Larry Stein of Effingham.

Cotton was injured and was taken by private vehicle to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. Cook was cited for failure to yield.
