Dieterich Man Arrested in Connection with Edgewood Stabbings

An arrest has been made in connection with an incident that resulted in injuries to three people at Edgewood's American Legion early Sunday morning.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Department confirmed Tuesday afternoon that Jacob C. White, 21 of Dieterich, was in custody and charged with Aggravated Battery. White is in the Effingham County jail, awaiting a bond hearing.

Officials say at some point early Sunday morning, a large-scale fight broke out at the Legion, involving several people. Those who instigated the fight fled the scene as first responders arrived.

Injured in the fight were Dale E. Dobson, 50 of Mason, Allen J. Hardiek, 39 from Altamont, and Sean R. Wilson, 33 of El Paso, TX (formerly of Mason). Police say all three received non-life threatening knife wounds.

Police indicate further charges and arrests are possible as they continue to investigate the incident.
