Four Injured in Crash at Watson "T"

Four people were injured Friday afternoon in a crash south of Effingham at the junction of US 45 and Illinois 37, east of Watson.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports the crash happened at 2:51pm.

According to reports, 19-year-old Jessica Hassebrock of Edgewood was eastbound on Route 37 and stopped at the intersection, then pulled out onto Route 45 where her car was struck by a southbound car driven by 24-year-old Alisha Blake of Flora.

Hassebrock and Blake were both injured, as were Blake's mother and Blake's daughter, both of Flora, who were passengers in the Blake vehicle. All four were taken for treatment to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Hassebrock was cited for failure to yield at an intersection.

Watson Fire Department and Effingham City/County Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
