Beecher City Girl Injured in Crash

A Beecher City girl was injured in a crash in Effingham County Thursday night.

Illinois State Police report 17-year-old Kaitlyn Brown was traveling on 2100th Avenue, a half-mile east of 200th Street, near Beecher City when the crash occurred at 9:20pm. Police say Brown's vehicle was eastbound approaching a hillcrest when an unknown vehicle headed west came over the hill in the middle of the road, causing Brown to swerve to avoid a crash. Due to the icy road conditions, Brown's vehicle ran off the roadway to the left, down a culvert, and into a wooded ravine.

Brown was injured, and was transported by a private vehicle to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. No citations were issued.
