One Killed in Crash East of Teutopolis

An elderly man riding a scooter was killed Friday when struck by a car.

Killed in the incident was 85-year-old Edwin Ebbert of Montrose.

The crash occurred at 4:02pm at the intersection of 1500th Avenue and 1950th Street about one mile east of Teutopolis. State police report Ebbert was eastbound on 1500th Avenue on a scooter and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. A car driven by 22-year-old Logan Bueker of Sigel struck the scooter.

Ebbert was killed in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. Bueker was not injured.

No citations were issued.
