A four-vehicle crash in Effingham resulted in injuries to seven people.

Effingham city police say the crash occurred at 4:44pm Sunday, north of the intersection of Keller Drive and Temple Avenue.

A vehicle driven by 17-year-old Colten Miller of Effingham rear-ended a vehicle driven by 63-year-old John Caldwell of Effingham, causing Caldwell's vehicle to rear-end a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Holly Nichols of Stewardson, causing Nichols' vehicle to rear-end a vehicle driven by 73-year-old Mary Overbeck of Teutopolis.

Miller, Caldwell, and four passengers in Miller's vehicle...17-year-old Sarah Casey of Effingham, 24-year-old Daniel Langford of Effingham, 16-year-old Ilisa Rogers of Effingham, and 20-year-old Priscilla Elliot of Altamont...were all injured and were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. Nichols was injured but refused treatment.

Miller was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash and for unlawful number of passengers by someone using a graduated driver's license.
