Marshall Man Injured in Crash Near Shumway

A Marshall man was injured in a crash near Shumway over the weekend.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports 20-year-old Logan Sanders was injured at the intersection of Illinois Routes 32 and 33 at 9:55pm Saturday. Deputies say Sanders was westbound, turning north onto Route 32. Sanders' vehicle ran off the west side of the highway and struck a ditch embankment.

Sanders was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. He was cited for DUI, consumption of alcohol by a minor, and failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
