Woman Fatally Injured in Crash at Clay County Speedway

A Kell woman was fatally injured in a motor vehicle crash while participating in a race at Clay County Speedway near Flora Sunday.
The woman, 51-year-old Beulah Gray, was participating in a Powder Puff Derby with her son and was driving when their car crashed. No details concerning the crash were released pending the results of an autopsy into the death.
Clay County Coroner Wesley Miller said the crash happened about 3:15pm Sunday. Gray was taken to Clay County Hospital in Flora where she died of her injuries at 5:40pm.
Gray's son, 29-year-old Michael Gray of Salem, was injured in the crash and was taken for treatment to Washington University Hospital in St. Louis.
