Effingham's annual Hometown Christmas Celebration is set for Saturday. The celebration will be headquartered on the old Courthouse square, and is sponsored by the Effingham Central Business Group.

The celebration will last from 3-6pm and will feature free horse-drawn carriage rides, live Christmas music, Santa visits, Christmas cookie decorating and other family-friendly activities.

The day will be capped wth the official City of Effingham Community Christmas Tree Lighting by Mayor Jeff Bloemker on the Courthouse lawn at 6pm.
