Wentzville, Missouri Couple Injured in Crash at St. Elmo

A Wentzville, Missouri couple were injured in a crash at St. Elmo Tuesday afternoon.

Illinois State Police say the crash happened at 1:30pm on I-70 eastbound about a mile from the St. Elmo interchange.

A van driven by 70-year-old James Boyd was traveling east when Boyd fell asleep. The van ran off the roadway to the right and struck the end of a guardrail.

Boyd and his passenger, 68-year-old Linda Boyd, were injured and were taken to Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia for treatment.

James Boyd was cited for improper lane usage.
