Early Filers in Effingham County

Two people filed for county-level offices when the 2016 election filing period opened Monday morning in Effingham County. Four others filed later Monday morning.

Lupita Thompson has filed for State's Attorney. Thompson, a Democrat, is a former Effingham County Public Defender. Republican Bryan Kibler is the incumbent.

John Perry has filed for Effingham County Board from District E. Perry is a Republican. Republican Mike Depoister is the incumbent.

Later Monday morning, Republican incumbent Duane Guffey filed for another term as County Coroner.

Republican Lloyd Foster has filed for another term on the County Board from District A, Republican Jeff Simpson has filed for another term on the County Board from District F, and Democrat Joe Thoele has filed for another term on the County Board from District I.

There were also some filings for Precinct Committeeman.

The filing period continues through 5pm next Monday, November 30.
