An Eastern Illinois University alumnus has been named to fill a vacancy on Eastern's Board of Trustees.

Dan Caulkins was announced Friday to fill the vacancy created by the recent death of Dr. Robert Webb. Caulkins lives in Decatur and is a former member of the Decatur City Council. He is also a veteran of the US Army and the Illinois National Guard.

Caulkins is the Vice President and COO of Patterson House, Inc. The company operates homes for adults with developmental disabilities. In addition, he assists in the operation of Franciscan Properties in West Chicago.
