On the same day that the Parkland College campus in Champaign was evacuated due to a bomb threat, a floor of a building on the Illinois State University campus in Normal was emptied after officials found what was termed a "suspicious package."

An alert came at 4:41pm that the package was discovered on the fourth floor of Schroeder Hall. A haz mat team examined the package and no hazardous materials were found. The all-clear was sounded about two hours after the incident began.
