A bomb threat resulted in an evacuation of Parkland College in Champaign. Classes and all campus activities are cancelled for the rest of the day today, but normal activities are expected to take place on Friday. No bomb was found.

Students began receiving red alerts on their electronic devices about 10:15am regarding the threat.

The threat was made online in a UIUC Reddit page.

Authorities used various techniques including a bomb-sniffing dog from the Champaign County Sheriff's Department to search the campus.

Parkland leaders are saying the threat was credible enough for them to take action.

While Parkland was evacuating, the high school of St. Thomas More just up the road didn't dismiss, but went on a "soft lockdown."

University of Illinois officials said there was nothing in the threat to connect the university, although university investigators assisted with the investigation at Parklad.
